It all started with a popular idiom: happy as a clam. As a girl on the brink of changing her last name, I took the liberty of applying the idiom to my life: happy as a Klamm.
If you're like this guy, you might wonder why someone thinks a clam is all that happy.
Although his alternate interpretation is hilarious and thought provoking, he's missing the real meaning behind the saying. The full idiom is actually (who knew?) "happy as a clam at high tide" - the clam is happy and carefree because it is far from its predators. Sounds good! But "happy as a Klamm at high tide" doesn't really roll off the tongue, so bare with us as we shorten it.
This is #happyasaklamm in action on our wedding weekend, November 9-10, 2012.
It's safe to say we were happier than a clam at high tide. See for yourself:
This, we hope, will be a place to document the little and big things in this new life together, both the happy and the mundane (the clam doesn't always get to enjoy high tide, right?). They will be snippets of what make us...US, both individually and together.
